Forix gravity retaining wall system
The Project
13.5 ft. Tall, 374 ft. Long, 4,140 sq. ft. Face Area
The general contractor on this Truett’s Grill project delayed the construction of a wall beside the restaurant’s drive-thru until the entire site was nearly complete. This delay caused the project to demand a wall system that could be constructed within a tight site due to property line constrictions, the existing drive-thru, the existing parking lot on top of the wall, and substantial rock behind the wall face.
By using Forix for this wall, the general contractor was able to fit small units between the already-installed drive-thru lanes and the rock. Rock anchors were installed along the bottom rows, and the anchors were connected to the Forix units. The anchors were used to provide acceptable factors of safety for sliding and global stability. Once the wall height was above the rock, then regular Forix units were able to be installed.
