Forix gravity retaining wall system
The Project
19.5 Ft. Tall, 234 Ft. Long, 3,186 Sq. Ft. Face Area
A wall was needed next to a Wendy’s in Hogansville, Georgia, but a traditional MSE wall would not have been possible due to the narrow footprint of the intended location. A concrete wall would have been difficult due to the footing width that would be required. In some areas, there was only 8 feet between the curb line and the rock excavation. The Forix gravity retaining wall system was the best fit for this tight project and even allowed the contractor to perform less excavation of the rock onsite.
This project was the first experience the contractor had with the Forix system and even so, the wall’s construction was quick and efficient. It was also constructed during a rainy period, but construction continued due to the stone back fill being used to fill the Forix units.
