Gravix Wall Systems
Project Overview
20.3 ft. Tall, 1,708 ft. Long, 24,203 sq. ft. Face Area
With the new Atlanta Braves stadium, Suntrust Park, being developed at the intersection of I-285 and I-75 in Cobb County, roadway improvements were necessary to accommodate the increased traffic and pedestrian flow. Three retaining walls were required in order to widen Interstate North Parkway and add sidewalks.
The largest wall was 20’ tall and over 1100’ long. A conventional cast in place concrete wall was going to require temporary shoring during installation. The Gravix Slot Construction method eliminated the added cost of temporary shoring and kept the wall within the county right of way. The versatility of the Gravix retaining wall system allowed the cut and fill retaining walls, including a traffic barrier, to be completed with one wall system.
